Designer Kim Victoria Wearne draws inspiration from the stark and fascinating Australian landscape, geological topographies and the curious artefacts of ancient civilisations. With a love of artisanal handcrafts, Kim creates precious and semi-precious collections, both beautiful and original.
At first glance, Kim Victoria jewels resemble mountains, volcanoes and peaks. Closer inspection reveals detailed surface textures, sparkling stones and intricate engravings.
Each piece is delicate, complex and thoughtfully sculpted, hand-carved by Kim in wax to highlight her materials of choice: opals, vintage diamonds, vibrant gems, and solid gold and silver.
Originally self-taught, Kim honed her craft with a Bachelor of Fine Art from RMIT in Gold and Silversmithing. Armed with First Class Honours in Interior Design, Kim has developed a label that balances conceptual practice and quality craftsmanship.
Kim’s collections have received local acclaim in solo and group exhibitions at Pieces of Eight gallery, several installations at Melbourne’s Alice Euphemia boutique, and an Art Start grant to further her study of opals in Coober Pedy.
